Introducing Stephanie Neal from Apricot Lane Boutique

Where did you grow up? How long have you lived in the area? Tell us about your family
I grew up in Mesa, Arizona for most of my younger years then moved to Gilbert. I met my husband Stacy in 2007 through mutual friends and we hit it off right away! I had 2 boys from a previous marriage (4 and 8) at the time. He had 2 girls (3 and 7) and a boy (7) from his previous relationship. So we had 5 kids together and let me tell you it was a blast! (but hectic at times. I think that is what made our relationship so strong) A year later we had another boy! So 6 kids! I loved every minute of raising them! It was not all cupcakes and rainbows but they were so fun and all of them have such different little personalities! My husband is a general contractor and does a lot of work outside of Arizona so he does travel quite a bit. Our kids are all mostly grown now, aging from 16-25 years old. I now have a grandson from my oldest son who is married and a former Marine. Every chance we get we try to get together but it is definitely hard with everyone's busy schedules.

Tell us about the events that led up to where you are now.
I graduated from Highland High School and then went into a Medical Assistant program and found my passion in the Medical field. I absolutely loved it! I loved helping people and meeting new faces daily! I have made so many amazing friends and long-time relationships throughout my medical career. I worked my way up the ladder and became a Practice Manager for a large Corporate company and took over two pediatric clinics which I ran for 3 years. 2020 is when I decided the corporate life was not for me. Although I loved every bit of it and I wouldn't change anything, it was time to take my path elsewhere. I wanted to create a space of my own and help women of all ages find a spark in themselves! So I looked into opening a boutique.

What is your business, how/why did you start your business?
I opened Apricot Lane in 2021, this was a franchise I had researched and I fell in love! My husband told me to follow my dreams as I had been talking about it for a few years so he said to go for it! I am thankful to him for giving me this opportunity to help people in a different light than the medical field. It is so rewarding to see so many different women walk into my boutique and brighten up when they find something so unique and different! Apricot Lane has a variety of styles for everyone! A touch of fashion and trending pieces is what we go for! I am able to pick every single item that is sold in the boutique. This makes it personal and different from other boutiques in the valley. We carry a few items that are giveback so when those items sell they go to a great cause. One of them is fighting against human trafficking.

Given your business expertise and the nature of what you do, what advice can you offer to the residents?
You can never have enough color in your closet! Although a little black dress is always a go-to and we will always have that in the boutique! Never judge an outfit on the hanger it does no justice until it is on your body :) I always say "just try it on" 8 to 9 times out of 10 the customer loves it!

What else we should know about you, your family, or your business?
We can have private events as well. Whether you want a girls night shopping trip, bachelorette party, birthday fun whatever you can think of we can plan it!
