Why a schnauzer?  

It was unexpected that we would fall for a miniature schnauzer.  In May 2014, we bumped into a guy in South Padre Island who had two schnauzers, and when we stopped to pet them, they both gave us hugs, and that was it.

What is Benji’s personality?  

He is sassy, and he gets very excited over his toys and takes them ALL outside to play with every day.  He is also a cuddler — he has to be touching someone all the time.

Any funny stories? 

Benji is a little Houdini.  Here are two examples. 1. When he was wearing a cone for a couple of weeks, he figured out how to get it off by sitting down and squeezing the cone to make enough room to slide his head out. 2. We had him gated in a section of the house in his crate, but he somehow opened the crate, pushed it close to the baby gate and jumped on top of the crate and over the gate.

I heard you take Benji to Petbar.  

We love it there because whenever we drop him off, they don’t put him into a crate to wait but actually have a small waiting room, which is more relaxing for him. Plus, whenever he sees a groomer, they constantly update us with photos. Plus, we take advantage of their membership with baths, nail trims, teeth brushing and baths every other week.
