Meet Richard Revell
"Anchorage is the only place to live."

For over 60 years, Richard Revell has called Anchorage home, building a legacy of dedication, fairness, and service. A lawyer by profession, Richard’s distinguished career included serving as a Juvenile Court Judge, Circuit Court Judge, and Family Court Judge.
Richard credits his faith, fairness, and strong work ethic as guiding principles throughout his life. His advice to younger generations? Pursue an education and career you truly enjoy, one that offers both fulfillment and growth.
Although his judicial responsibilities kept him on call at all hours, Richard still found ways to support his community. He served as Anchorage’s representative to Bellewood Children's Home, advised Mayor Peyton Hoge, and remains an active member of Anchorage Presbyterian Church. He fondly recalls his late wife, Peg, who was deeply involved in Anchorage’s Archives, APTA, and City Council, leaving her own lasting impact on the community.
One of Richard’s proudest moments was receiving The Chief Justice's Judge of the Year Award, a testament to his dedication to justice. But perhaps an even greater source of pride is his family’s deep ties to Anchorage Public School—all three of his children attended, and both his wife Peg and his daughters, Karen Steltenpohl and Kathy Revell, have served the district.
For Richard, Anchorage isn’t just a place to live—it’s the only place to live. He cherishes the town’s natural beauty, strong sense of community, and the pride its residents take in calling it home.
We are honored to recognize Richard Revell as this month’s Golden Resident and celebrate the legacy he and his family continue to build in Anchorage.
