As an expert textile chemist, Laurie is redefining alfresco living. Laurie is the owner and operator at Laurie Bell, a company that designs and manufactures outdoor fabrics, cushions and pillows. Trained to understand the effects of rain, humidity, and sun exposure on textiles, Laurie’s unique skill set has helped her find success in this niche market.

Born in California, Laurie credits her upbringing for her passion for working with textiles. “I was raised in North Carolina, surrounded by the furniture and textile industry, “she began. “My mother was an accomplished music teacher and seamstress.”

A resident of Ardsley Park since 2018, Laurie works each day to help clients make their outdoor space unique and functional for their family and friends. She loves gardening, cooking, live music, entertaining, reading, and traveling. Because of her love for creating unique outdoor oases, the designer is excited to be working on a new collection of custom Sunbrella fabrics and trims and to expand her porch swing business.
