Erin Hively and Magnolia Springs Family Practice: simply different from the rest.

“When I was in school learning about various types of nurses, the only role that resonated with me was one where I could thoroughly get to know my patients; this is the role of a family nurse practitioner in an outpatient setting. This meant being able to spend time with each patient, getting to know them and their families. I pride myself on listening to my patients and treating each like an individual, not a number,” Erin began. “Also, I love to focus on wellness! While I can, and do, prescribe medications to treat chronic and acute disease, I also believe health comes in preventing disease. I enjoy educating people on nutrition, exercise, well-being, stress reduction and mental health. I want people to be the healthiest version of themselves and I love getting people to that place. Wellness is a journey and it’s my priority to get you there.”

Magnolia Springs Family Practice operates using a direct primary care model. This means there is no insurance involved, so Erin is able to provide care that is truly focused on the patient, rather than following insurance expectations. Her clients pay a monthly membership fee, thus receiving unlimited access to care. In addition, they don’t have co-pays or deductibles and can get discounts on lab services.

“At this time, I am a one-woman show with a husband who has been incredibly supportive in this whole starting a practice endeavor. Additionally, he's been even more supportive in helping the business buy and remodel an office space! In the next year, as enrollment grows, I hope to be hiring a certified medical assistant on board to help with lab draws, immunizations, etc.,” Erin explained.

It is clear that Erin is passionate about delivering top-notch care to her patients and ensuring they live long, healthy and happy lives.

“One of my greatest joys is listening to patients say, ‘Oh, wow, no one ever explained that to me!’ or ‘No one took the time to listen like you have listened to me!’ When we have the time to sit and listen to our patients we can learn so much,” she smiled.

Erin works to make sure her patients understand the path to living a healthy life. With a focus on treating the patient, not just the disease, Erin believes in holistic wellness and looking at the whole patient emotionally, physically and spiritually. Her wellness foundation includes counseling in exercise, nutrition, stress reduction, limiting toxins, having a healthy social life and getting adequate sleep.

“Magnolia Springs Family Practice is strictly membership-based; while I don't accept insurance or write super bills, my practice makes a great compliment to those patients who already carry insurance. With each membership comes a one-time enrollment fee, which includes a free set of annual wellness labs. I practice medicine compassionately and comprehensively, understanding there is no one-size-fits-all patient so you will never receive one-size-fits all care. As a family nurse practitioner, I see patients above the age of three-families get discounts when members sign up together! I have previous experience in primary care, public and community health, occupational medicine and a very strong passion for mental health,” said Erin. “For the past year I’ve also been working closely with Veterans doing disability exams. Thank you for your service!” she exclaims.

Magnolia Springs Family Practice recently purchased office space off Waters/55th Street just outside of Ardsley and has renovated the building. They are fresh and ready to help people in the community become the healthiest versions of themselves.
