Curtis and Samantha Lamp found their perfect furry companion at South Georgia Kennels in

Albany, Georgia, where they picked up Pecorino, their beloved Boykin Spaniel. The decision to bring Pecorino into their lives was partly fueled jokingly by Curtis's desire to defy his upbringing without a dog, but primarily to provide Samantha with a lively companion during her work-from-home days.

The inspiration for Pecorino's unique name stemmed from an unforgettable visit to an Alaskan

sled dog training farm. Surrounded by rows of dog houses, each labeled with a distinct category, Curtis and Samantha settled on "cheeses" and chose Pecorino Romano as a nod to their favorite cheese.

Pecorino's talents and quirks add a special charm to the Lamp household. From swallowing bully sticks whole (not recommended!) to tirelessly retrieving his frisbee, he is an energetic bundle of joy. His fascination with squirrels knows no bounds, yet he's content to chase them without any intention of catching them. Remarkably tough, he shrugs off bumps to his nose when running too fast to stop without a single tear.

What Curtis and Samantha love most about Pecorino is his adaptable nature. Whether it's a slow day indoors or an action-packed adventure outdoors, Pecorino effortlessly matches the energy of the room. Despite being a selective listener, he surprises them with his gentle demeanor, especially around children. Amidst Pecorino's adventures, there are plenty of funny moments to cherish. His dilemma of finding the perfect hiding spot for high-value treats often results in comical cries of confusion. His undying love for room-temperature salted butter sticks left on the counter is a testament to his discerning palate.

Spoiled? Perhaps, but Pecorino has earned his place as a cherished member of the family. As a "House Boykin"; he insists on optimal conditions (no wet grass and not too cold) to relieve

himself and enjoys the privilege of sleeping on the bed after a bath.

Above all, Pecorino has brought structure and happiness to the Lamp household, eagerly

awaiting his role as a big brother in their growing family. With his boundless energy and

affectionate nature, Pecorino has enriched their lives in ways they never imagined possible.
