Stately Home on E Victory Drive

What are the favorite features of your home in Ardsley Park? The Island and the mixture of old and new in the Kitchen and the main level of the house's spacious interior as well as all the natural light throughout the house. The four bedrooms/three baths on the main bedroom level and the sleeping lofts in the attic. The lovely garden areas both front and back with room for a lap pool as well as the porte cochere and all the off-street parking off the lane. Being on a corner also allows for plenty of street parking which some landlocked Victory Drive houses do not have. There is also a nice pair of apartments in the carriage house which brings in revenue to offset the costs of upkeep, taxes and insurance.

Any history of the home that we are aware of? It was built in 1902 around the time when others were also building the early grand houses of Ardsley Park such as 515 E Victory Drive across the street, 35 and 39 Washington Avenue, and 920 E Victory Drive just to name a few. Downtown was unpopular at that time and most of the prominent houses from the 1800s had been divided up into rooming houses. It was fashionable to move out to the Ardsley park area where there was more space and other neighbors of like mind and affluence.

What are some of the most recent renovations done to your home? The kitchen and baths and the flooring - there is also a doggie wash-up closet with a big wash sink for a small pooch! The landscaping was redone in 2020.

Any other memories or comments you would like to share? The home is a popular spot for the film industry and the yacht crowd - the past few years it has hosted many interesting groups who need a beautifully furnished place for two or three months at a time while they live/work in Savannah.
