The Glendale Police Data Viewer
Last month we discussed the newly installed license plate readers in our neighborhood and how they help deter crime and assist Glendale Police in criminal investigations. This month we will discuss how to file a police report and how to view every call for Glendale police assistance/response using the Glendale Police Data Viewer.
Filing a Police Report
Obviously, in an emergency, you are asked to call 911 immediately. In non-emergent situations, there are two ways in which to file a police report. You can call the Glendale Police non-emergent number (623-930-3000) to file a report, or you can do it online on the Glendale Police website (www.glendaleaz/police.com). Using either method will involve answering several questions related to the incident you are reporting. Once finished, your report will be reviewed and, if approved, you will receive a report number and a link to upload any video you may have of the incident in question.
Viewing the Glendale Police Data Viewer
The Glendale Police Data Viewer is available online at www.glendaleaz/police.com. This interactive tool allows you to view every call for police assistance/response/action in Glendale for the past 18 months. This viewer provides everything from a reported traffic stop to a response for assault with a deadly weapon.
The data viewer allows the user a range of options, from viewing all calls/responses in Glendale to viewing calls on specific dates in specific neighborhoods. For Arrowhead Lakes click on the Cholla Council District and it will reveal all calls within that district. Each call is represented by a colored circle. Click on the colored circle and it will reveal the nature of the call, including call number, call date/time, day of week, call type, call priority, call location, and call disposition. The viewer also allows you to specify a date range and/or day of the week and the call priority you are interested in, with call priority 1 being the most serious. You can then zoom into the Arrowhead Lakes development and click on any colored dot to reveal the details and disposition of that specific call.
The data viewer shows that, for the year 2023, Glendale Police reported 175,578 calls for police assistance/response/action, with 13,597 of those calls in the Cholla District, which encompasses our Arrowhead Lakes neighborhood.
Remember - Dial 911 for emergencies and 623-930-3000 for non-emergency issues.
