A Gatsby-Inspired Speakeasy at The Peach Orchard Venue Highlights from October 23rd

Stroll residents and business sponsors from Augusta Pines/The Creeks, East Shore, Carlton Woods, Benders Landing Estates, Bentwater Life, Royal Oaks Country Club, Wood Forest, and
Lake Windcrest Estates enjoyed a ritzy evening at The Peach Orchard, an elegant,
award-winning venue transformed into a Gatsby-inspired wonderland! Guests handed
over their keys to valets and were greeted by “Henry,” a 1929 Model A Ford, and other
vintage cars parked out front. East Shore resident Peter Adey arrived in his own swanky
vintage wheels, setting the scene alongside his glam gal, Kathleen Adey.
Dressed to the nines in Roaring Twenties attire, guests were welcomed by the eight
Stroll publishers, who charmed with authentic ’20s slang. After whispering the secret
password, "giggle water",  they slipped through a red swag curtain to enter a lavish
black-and-gold Art Deco-themed speakeasy.

Just outside the entrance, three gold-and-black silhouettes—a flapper, a dapper dancer,
and a lounging flapper perched on a crescent moon with a martini in hand—created a
striking welcome. Inside, the lively tunes of a DJ, MC, and strolling saxophone and
guitar players set the scene with a razzle-dazzle vibe.

The first 50 guests received gilded gift bags with treasures like The Great Gatsby
candle by Literally Illuminating (literallyilluminating.com), shimmering gold casino cards,
Godiva chocolates, and black-and-gold macarons celebrating Stroll’s 20th anniversary,
specially crafted by business sponsor Confetti Me Macarons.

Upon entering, guests received glasses of bubbly to toast Stroll’s milestone and their
commitment to community building. The bustling bar showcased a stunning ice
sculpture by Ice Occasions Houston celebrating Stroll’s 20th anniversary, perfectly
paired with the evening’s specialty gin cocktail, the “Bee’s Knees”—a true crowd
favorite.

In true Gatsby style, the casino invited guests to test their luck with “play money.”
Winners could exchange their chips for tickets, each one a chance to win extravagant
prizes, including diamond hoop earrings donated by Dannini and a stunning Lagos
diamond bracelet from Thomas Markle Jewelers. A huge thank you to all our Stroll
casino and bar sponsors—your support made this glamorous Gatsby night truly
unforgettable!

Judges mingled through the speakeasy, scouting for the evening’s best-dressed couple,
gal, and gent, and awarded winners with a glamorous golden champagne bucket,
champagne flutes, and other posh keepsakes.

The Peach Orchard's food sponsors presented a spread of savory bites, sweets, and
meats, while moody lighting, rich florals, and gold balloons added to the 1920s charm.
Crystal chandeliers cast an elegant glow over the speakeasy, while a cigar lounge
offered gentlemen a chance to roll their own cigars, adding a decadent touch to the
night.

Lara Haddad, owner of The Peach Orchard Venue, and a resident of Augusta Pines community, dressed in sequined gold, welcomed guests with warmth and charm. Her team’s dedication made the night shine, transforming Stroll’s 20th anniversary into a truly memorable affair. Stroll publishers are grateful for Lara’s friendship and partnership and encourage guests to consider “The Peach” for weddings and events—it’s a stunning space for any unforgettable occasion.
Here’s to a night that was the absolute bee’s knees!
