Mary and Paul have called 204 Onyx home since 2019, purchasing their charming cottage just before the world changed with COVID-19. When the pandemic hit, their daughter and her family moved into the front unit, creating a unique multigenerational living experience. But what makes their story truly remarkable is that, during this time, their daughter gave birth right there in the house—an incredibly rare event on Balboa Island! With the support of a doula, a new life entered the world at a time when so many were facing uncertainty and hardship. Amidst the sorrow felt globally, their family found profound joy in welcoming a baby into their home.

 

Adding to the home’s charm, their original cottage, built in 1941, exudes classic island character. Complemented by a delightful garden, the property embodies the warmth and history that make Balboa Island so special.
