Myleigh McCormick, a vibrant 13-year-old, is an 8th grader at Barboursville Middle School who will soon attend Cabell Midland High School.  Her family includes her dad, Matt, and stepmother, Sara; her mom, Erin, and step-father, Dave; her 17-year-old brother, Kyus; and her 9-year-old sister, Kennedi.

Myleigh has lived in Deer Creek for six years, making countless memories along the way. "I have way too many memories to choose from, but my favorite ones are all the trips I’ve taken and the time I’ve spent with my family," she shared with Stroll Barboursville.

Myleigh's aspirations are clear: she plans to follow in her grandfather David Eller's footsteps and attend dental school. But before that, her journey was full of diverse activities and passions, primarily centered around her love for competitive dance.

Starting dance at the tender age of four, thanks to her Nana, Judy McCormick, Myleigh has flourished into a dedicated and talented dancer at Ultimate Dance Legacy. "What I enjoy most is being on stage in front of the crowd and traveling with my fellow dance team," she says. Her hard work and passion paid off when her solo won 2nd place at a national dance competition in Hershey, PA, in 2023.

Myleigh shared, "What makes me unique in my sport is my passion for the art and the drive to always become a better version of myself."

Myleigh commented on balancing her activity schedule, “Finding a balance between school and my activities can be a little overwhelming, but I work hard at it all and still enjoy time for other hobbies like traveling and hanging out with my friends.”

A significant source of inspiration for Myleigh is her dance coach, Laura Phillips, the owner of Ultimate Dance Legacy. "She has given me the motivation to always keep going, no matter what, on stage and in life. She has always believed in me, which has made me believe in myself. I cannot thank her enough!"

Myleigh McCormick's story is one of dedication, passion, and a supportive family. As she continues to shine on and off the stage, our community eagerly anticipates the bright future ahead for this remarkable young dancer.
