The Moosavi Family: Pillars of the Barboursville Community
The Moosavi family has been a cornerstone of the Barboursville community, with their roots firmly planted in the region and their contributions to local life extending far and wide. Dr. Ben Moosavi and his wife, Ginger, along with their children, are a testament to hard work, dedication, and community spirit.
Ben and Ginger Moosavi have three children: Hudson, 15, Maddox, 14, and Kately, 12. Hudson is starting 10th grade, Maddox is beginning his freshman year, and Kately is entering 6th grade at St. Joseph Catholic School, where all the children have attended since pre-K. Hudson plays baseball and soccer for St. Joseph High School. Maddox plays soccer and is a member of the WVFC travel team, which enjoyed a great season culminating in a trip to the Regional Tournament. Kately is a member of the competitive dance team at Bridget's Dance Studio in Huntington and has been dancing since she was three years old. The family recently moved from 401 Sir Barton Court in Milton, where they lived for 12 years, to a new home at 705 Palisades Drive in Barboursville, known as The Oaks at Merrick's Creek. They share their home with three doodle dogs: Cali, Kai, and Pearl. When asked what the family loves about living in the Barboursville area, Ginger commented, "We love the proximity to everything, while also being away from the hustle and bustle. We enjoy our quiet neighborhood which offers the most beautiful views."
Dr. Ben Moosavi established Ultimate Plastic Surgery in 2013 and has earned a growing reputation in the Tristate area as the go-to surgeon for all your plastic and reconstructive surgery needs. He has been voted best in the Tristate by the Herald-Dispatch community for eight years in a row for the safe, top-notch care he provides in plastics, aesthetics, and reconstructive surgery. His knowledge, respect, and compassion for his patients are unmatched in his field—with good reason too. Dr. Moosavi has a double board certification from both the American Board of Medical Specialties and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He completed one of the most prestigious plastic surgery fellowships in the world at Emory University, after undergoing a rigorous education in general surgery, including the finer points of excellent patient care, at Marshall University. Just after five years of opening Ultimate Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery inside the HIMG Regional Medical Center, Dr. Moosavi saw the demand for a greater vitality and aesthetics center in Huntington. He and Dr. Amy Vaughan, owner and dermatologist at Amy Vaughan Dermatology, joined forces and created The RETREAT. Dr. Moosavi still operates and offers all surgical procedures through Ultimate Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is currently the medical director of the breast reconstructive program at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Ginger Moosavi, a CRNA, works at Three Gables in Proctorville on a part-time basis. "I love being able to balance my professional life with my family commitments," Ginger told Stroll Barboursville. She stays busy chauffeuring the kids to activities and being involved in their school, which is why she recently cut back on her hospital hours. Both Ben and Ginger are deeply involved in the community. Ginger is in charge of fundraising and concessions for St. Joseph High School's baseball team and is an active member of the Guyan Golf and Country Club. Ben and Ginger both served on the museum ball planning committee several years ago, and they have partnered with Marshall University coaches and staff to allow them access to enjoy The Retreat. Ben’s practice has a long-term vision of serving the community with top-notch medical care, which is evident in his establishment of the breast reconstructive program at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
The Moosavi family enjoys traveling together, having visited many beautiful places such as Bali, Turks and Caicos, and the Bahamas. "Traveling allows us to bond as a family and create unforgettable memories," Ginger shared. Ben and Ginger met at the VA Medical Center, where Ben was a general surgery resident and Ginger was a nursing student at Marshall University. They married in 2006 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, where Ginger grew up attending. The couple has been inseparable since, building a beautiful life together in Barboursville. Their journey together is marked by a shared commitment to their professions, their children, and their community. "We believe in giving back and making a difference, whether through our work or our involvement in local activities," Ginger said.
The Moosavi family's story is one of dedication, love, and community spirit. As they continue to grow and contribute to Barboursville, they serve as an inspiration to all who know them.
