Wholi Moli: Jamie LaFear's Journey to Empowering Health and Wellness in Barboursville
Jamie
Jamie LaFear is the owner of Wholi Moli, a unique health and wellness store located in Barboursville. . Born and raised in the Huntington area, Jamie has consistently demonstrated her passion for the community and her dedication to promoting health and wellness. After earning degrees in Organizational Communications and Business Marketing from Marshall University, Jamie moved to the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, where she spent nearly a decade working in wealth management and as a director of marketing. However, her roots called her back to Huntington, where she returned with three children and a vision: to blend her love of teaching, entrepreneurship, and whole health to help her community thrive.
In 2014, Jamie opened the doors to Wholi Moli, and after celebrating ten successful years in business, she continues to showcase her resilience and determination. Owning a small business comes with its challenges, but Jamie’s commitment to providing high-quality products, educating her community, and supporting individual health journeys has made Wholi Moli a cornerstone of the area’s wellness movement. Driven by her belief in the importance of continual education, Jamie earned certifications in Functional Nutrition and Integrative Health. These credentials have enabled her to further support her client’s health and healing goals and to launch another venture, Wholistic Wellness, which offers individualized health consultations.
Jamie’s entrepreneurial spirit has inspired her children—Quentin (19), Nathan (17), and Reagan (16)—to actively contribute to Wholi Moli’s success. They’ve helped with everything from cleaning and setting up events to conducting inventory and assisting customers, making Wholi Moli a true family-run business. Quentin started a lawn care business at just 14 years old and has maintained a thriving portfolio of clients. In addition, he earned an Electrician’s Certification and 24 hours of college credit, graduating as a 2024 honors student from Huntington High School. Recently, Quentin joined the Air Force and serves with the West Virginia Air National Guard’s 130th Airlift Wing, where he is pursuing a career in aviation electronics, or “Avionics.”
Nathan, a junior at Huntington High School, is forging his path with a dual focus in Business Management and Sports Medicine. In addition to excelling in academics, he is active in the Latin Club, Future Business Leaders of America, and multiple varsity sports, including soccer, basketball, track, and golf. Nathan also lends a hand with Quentin’s lawn care business during the spring and summer months.
Reagan, Jamie’s youngest, is homeschooled and plays a significant role in Wholi Moli’s operations. She assists with inventory, stocking, cleaning, and customer service, gaining hands-on experience in small business management. Reagan also enjoys playing soccer and volleyball and is passionate about working with children, often babysitting for local families.
Jamie credits her faith and the support of her community for her family’s success. “It is by the Lord’s grace and strength that we have been able to overcome odds and succeed,” she says. “The love and acceptance from our community is humbling and motivating. It’s a joy and blessing to follow my passion while playing a small part in the health transformation of our community.”
