Cadet, Musician, Artist: The Many Talents of Juliet Bond

Seventeen-year-old Juliet Bond, a senior at Cabell Midland High School, and the daughter of  Casey and Elton Bond. She has a younger sister, Eris, 12. Known for her exceptional leadership in school activities and academic pursuits, Juliet is an inspiring example of dedication and hard work.

At Cabell Midland, Juliet has immersed herself in a variety of activities. A talented musician, she has played the trumpet since sixth grade. “ I picked up a trumpet for the first time in 6th grade band class and  haven’t put it down since.” Juliet is currently serving as the trumpet section leader in the award-winning marching band. Under her leadership, the band recently secured its 13th consecutive state championship victory.

Music isn’t her only forte. Juliet is deeply involved in the Air Force Junior ROTC (AFJROTC) program, where she holds the highest possible rank and leads as the Group Commander. “Our JROTC program is cadet-led, which allows me to organize events, lead meetings, and collaborate with other class leaders,” she shared. Her love for leadership and teamwork has driven her success in music and JROTC.

Although relatively new to pottery and ceramics, having started in August, Juliet has quickly developed a passion for the craft, which she enjoys and intends to continue after high school.
Balancing multiple commitments is a challenge Juliet navigates with poise. “Communication is key,” she emphasized. “If you reach out and ask for help, people are usually willing to work with you. And it’s just as important to set aside free time with family and friends.”

Juliet' shared her post-high school plans with Stroll Barboursville. “I will be attending the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, to pursue a bachelor’s degree in history, with aspirations of attending law school.”

When asked who inspires her the most, Juliet speaks glowingly about her mother, Casey. “To have such a strong role model in my life is a gift. She motivates me to push myself, even when it makes her life busier and harder,” Juliet said.

Looking toward the future, Juliet is eager to continue growing as a leader and scholar. With her impressive track record of achievements and a heart full of gratitude for those who have supported her journey, Juliet Bond is well on her way to making her mark in college and beyond.

We are blessed to have this young achiever as part of our community.
