Barb E. Ville: Hello Shawnee! It’s great to have you here with me today.

Shawnee: Hi Barb! I am a little excited and curious about what treats you might have for me!

Barb E. Ville: Well, I do have a few treats for you, but only after you tell me all about yourself.

Shawnee: Absolutely!  I’m about a year old and a medium-sized dog weighing in at 56 pounds. I’ve been here at Little Victories Animal Rescue for a few months.

Barb E. Ville: I hear you’re quite talented when it comes to tricks.

Shawnee: Oh, I can sit, stay, and even shake paws! I’ll do just about anything for a treat. Want to see?

Barb E. Ville: I’d love to! (hands Shawnee a treat) Good boy! So, Shawnee, what kind of home do you think would be perfect for you?

Shawnee: Well, I love food, so a home where I get my meals separately from other animals or in my crate would be ideal. I’m still learning and building my confidence, so a family that can help me with obedience training would be fantastic. I’d do well with dog friends who are calm and won’t get upset if I get a bit too excited during playtime. I would probably need the right dog companion to balance that excitement level or to be the only dog in my new home. 

 

Barb E. Ville: That sounds reasonable. What about cats and kids? Have you been around them much?

Shawnee: I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d react. As for kids, I haven’t been around small children either. I might be a little nervous at first, but with the right introduction, I think I could do well.

Barb E. Ville: It sounds like you’re ready to find a loving home that can help you learn and grow. What do you enjoy doing the most?

Shawnee: I love playing chase! It’s so much fun, although sometimes I get too excited so I need some supervision while playing. I also enjoy learning new tricks, especially when there are treats involved.

Barb E. Ville: You seem like such a sweet and fun-loving dog, Shawnee. Why should someone choose you to be a part of their family?

Shawnee: I have so much love to give! I’m eager to learn and be the best dog I can be. With a bit of patience and training, I know I can make my new family very happy. Plus, who can resist this face?
