Paws and Tales: Meet Clawthorne and Mama Cat, the Baumgartner Family’s Felines

Mama Cat

Barb E Ville: Today I have the pleasure of chatting with two extraordinary members of the Baumgartner family: Clawthorne and Mama Cat. Welcome, you two!
Clawthorne: Thank you, Barb. It's a pleasure to be here.
Mama Cat: Yes, thank you. We're excited to share our story.

BV: Let's start with how you both became part of the Baumgartner family. I hear Santa Claus was involved.
Mama Cat: That's right! It was a magical Christmas when Jackson was three. He kept asking for a cat, and Santa delivered me.
Clawthorne: And I was a gift for Bennett, though he was so young at the time that he had a little help naming me. We've been part of the family ever since.

BV: Speaking of names can we share how you got yours?
Mama Cat: Jackson named me. At three, he combined his two favorite words: Mama and Cat. Simple and fitting. A purrfect name for sure!
Clawthorne: My name has a more literary origin. I enjoy snuggling and reading classics like "A Tail of Two Kitties" and works by the Bronte Hissers. So, my name, Nathaniel Clawthorne, suits my refined taste.

BV: Let's talk about Lady, your new canine sibling. How is she fitting in?
Mama Cat: Lady is a recent addition. She was adopted last June 28, and she's been a wonderful addition. Very polite and well-mannered.
Clawthorne: We're still getting used to her. She's a Weimaraner, and sometimes I like to jump out of the pantry to give her a good scare. It's all in good fun, though.

BV: What are some of your special talents or quirks?
Mama Cat: Both Clawthorne and I are expert hunters. We keep the house free of any unwelcome critters.
Clawthorne: And we love snuggling. Despite our hunting prowess, we're very affectionate with our family.

BV: What do you like best about living with the Baumgartners?
Mama Cat: The love and protection we all share. Adam, Holley, Jackson, and Bennett are incredibly caring. We’re all fiercely protective of each other, but we also enjoy lots of snuggles and playtime.
Clawthorne:  We admit we are a touch spoiled. We insist on sleeping in the big human bed. Sometimes, I even sleep with Lady just to be close to my humans.

BV: How has Lady's arrival changed things?
Mama Cat: The family is beyond thrilled that Lady is here. Us cats are still adjusting, but we're sure we'll grow to love her just as much as the rest of the family.

BV: It's clear that you both have enriched this household immensely. Any final thoughts?
Clawthorne: We're just happy to be part of such a loving family. Every day is an adventure, and we're grateful for all the love and care.
Mama Cat: We’re sure Lady will become an integral part of our family too.

BV: Thank you both for sharing your delightful stories.
Mama Cat: Thank you!
Clawthorne: Thanks, Barb. Gotta run it's time to give Lady a bit of a scare, LOL!
