Pickleball Brunch
Pickleball Brunch attendees
Sunday morning, April 14th found a cheerful contingent of Pickleball players, some experienced and others brand new to the game, at the Jim Perkins Memorial courts in Bear Creek.
A casual, open-play rotation gained traction, the four courts filled, and other attendees waited for the next game while socializing and partaking in a delicious champagne breakfast prepared by club head, Mike Johnson. The menu included scrambled eggs, bacon and country potatoes skillfully grilled on Mike’s large barbecue. Pastries and side dishes, brought by guests, rounded out the fare. Orange juice mimosas flowed.
Several newcomers, couples, families and children, were attracted by the friendly vibe. It wasn’t long before they were lent paddles and invited onto the courts to try out the game. Pickleball is relatively easy to quickly ascertain, and beginners and veteran players alike enjoyed themselves.
Special thanks to Mike Johnson and the pickleball club for hosting this brilliant community event.
