Meet the Tabereaux Family!
Belterra immediately felt like home...
Hi Belterra! Raechel Tabereaux here. I’m honored to introduce our family to the neighborhood! My husband, Jordan and I have three kids, Jackson (11), Benjamin (9) and Addie Jo (7). Just to round things out, we also have three dogs, Blue, Auggie and Ginger.
Jordan works for the #1 company in golf, Titleist, as the Austin/San Antonio Sales Rep. I am a classically and comprehensively trained Pilates Instructor. Benjamin and Addie Jo attend Rooster Springs Elementary. Jackson just started Sycamore Middle. It’s hard to believe we have a middle schooler, I’m too young!
Jordan and I met April of 2011 in Providence, Rhode Island. We both grew up in the Midwest but found ourselves working in New England post college. I wanted our first date to be casual, so we met at a bookstore. Then we ended up talking for hours! Okay, I did most of the talking. The funny thing is the date almost didn’t happen. I was running late, and Jordan thought he was getting stood up. Luckily for both of us, he didn’t leave then and now has gotten used to being a little late.
Flash forward one year later, we were married and expecting our first child! Jackson was born on a crisp New England day. Benjamin was born two years later during one of the coldest winters we’ve ever experienced. Remember the first time you heard the term “polar vortex”? We were smack dab in the middle of it with two dogs and two children under two!
A couple months later, Jordan was offered a position in Dallas, Texas. Jordan and I were excited for the new adventure! Here comes the crazy part, I had to drive our dogs and boys from Rhode Island to Texas without Jordan! It took four days and a positive attitude. We were officially Texas residents in March of 2015.
We fell in love with the Dallas suburb of Coppell. Soon after we were blessed with a surprise pregnancy! Addie Jo was born in January of 2017 making our family perfectly complete. Not long after that, we found our “forever” house and scheduled renovations. We lived there barely a year when Jordan was offered his current position. We had six weeks to sell our house and relocate. I was a bit stressed until we visited Dripping Springs.
I’ll never forget driving into Belterra for the first time! “Into the Unknown” from Frozen 2 was playing on repeat. Families were riding bikes, walking dogs and playing at the Rec Center. It instantly felt like our neighborhood. We prayed there would be the right house for our family.
We moved to Belterra January of 2020. The kids pleaded for another dog, so we promptly adopted Auggie. We were also blessed to find our current church, Bannockburn Baptist. In March of 2020 we suddenly had more family time and spent a good amount of it riding bikes, scooters, running and walking the trails. Jordan and I also unpacked our house in record time!
I started Pilates in High School and quickly realized I wanted to be in the fitness industry. I have been a Pilates Instructor for 14 years and absolutely love my job! Running is another passion of mine. Last year, with the help of three amazing running buddies, I ran the Houston Marathon and got a qualifying time for the Boston Marathon. This summer the whole family has started running a mile a day. I love the bonding time, but wouldn’t say the kids are as enthusiastic as I am.
Jordan grew up playing every sport but focused on baseball and soccer. That is until he shifted his focus to golf, where he became a very accomplished player. His passion turned into his career nearly fifteen years ago when he moved to Rhode Island to work for Titleist.
Currently we spend our time shuffling the kids to all the extracurricular activities. Jackson recently joined the Lake Travis Elite soccer program. This is Benjamin’s first year playing soccer for the Dripping Springs Stars. Addie is playing Academy Soccer for Dripping. Ginger, our youngest dog also enjoys playing soccer! She plays offensive and has scored more goals than all three kids combined. Her paw skills are unbelievable.
God laid it on our hearts to move to Dripping Springs. We are beyond thankful we stumbled upon Belterra nearly five years ago.
