Kardivas Club!
Self Worth, Mentorship, Leadership
Exciting news for the Dripping Springs ISD community! The Kardivas character club, a transformative program that has already made a significant impact in local schools, is expanding. This upcoming school year, Kardivas will be available at all five elementary schools within the district, adding Sycamore Springs Elementary (SSE) and Rooster Springs Elementary (Rooster) to its existing presence at Walnut Springs Elementary (WSE), Cypress Springs Elementary (CSE), and Dripping Springs Elementary (DSE).
Kardivas is a unique after-school club designed specifically for 5th-grade girls. The program runs from October through April, meeting every Thursday from 3-4 PM. The club is spearheaded by a dedicated group of Moms who manage the logistics, while high school Senior girls lead the sessions. This structure not only offers 5th- graders a chance to connect with older role models but also provides the Senior girls with valuable mentorship and leadership experience.
The club’s mission is to help young girls understand that they are uniquely created with a purpose, that they possess integrity and worth, and that they have something valuable to contribute to the world. The name "Kardivas" is derived from the Greek word “kardia,” meaning heart, and the acronym D.I.V.A.S., which stands for Devoted, Inspired, Virtuous, Authentic, and Sisterhood. These principles guide the club’s activities, which include weekly meetings, social events, and community service projects.
The club is always open for membership, and scholarships are available for those who need them. Every 5th-grade girl from Dripping Springs ISD is invited to join and experience the warmth, connection, and growth that Kardivas fosters.
You can register your daughter at the community programs link when it opens in the fall. For more information at Rooster Springs Elementary, please contact Krista Diaz at k.knez@sbcglobal.net.
