at Liberty Park
The Benders Social Committee was happy to once again be able to host the annual Easter “EGG”stravaganza at Liberty Park on Saturday, April 9th, with the blessing of perfect weather for the event. We welcomed over 170 families and over 240 excited kiddos ready to hunt for eggs and especially the Golden Eggs for additional prizes. We also held four Grand Prize drawings and a Guess the Number of Easter Candies game (with the winner taking home the 439 pieces), which had the kids, both young and old, vying for the prize. The Easter Bunny took time out of his busy schedule to stop by for a visit and join in on the festivities as well a pose for family photos with one and all. Our team of volunteers showed up with great enthusiasm and big smiles and donned their bunny ears and their generosity of time and talents were instrumental in creating another fun event for our community. We could not have done it without you! Chuck Sheldon was our Master of Ceremonies and led off each of the hunts for the various age groups and entertained us along the way. In addition, we also hosted a pop-up craft fair featuring local artist, Lisa Chopp, children’s author Kim Thompson and spring decor from One Rooster Boutique. All in all, with the sentiment of Fred Rogers, it was a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Special thanks to our event chairpersons: Glenda Bucceri, Sherry Gremillion and Chuck Sheldon.
