A student’s community service experiences have a positive impact on his or her acceptance to higher education institutions. It can also be the deciding factor when the choices are between equally qualified students. More than 60% of college admissions officers said that they would like to see service that starts at the beginning of high school, and 15% said that the service commitment should start before high school.

Colleges value community service that you are passionate about, that you are committed to, that betters your community or school, that builds and deepens your understanding of diversity and ethics, and for which those years of commitment have demonstrated meaningful participation and results. U.S. Colleges historically look beyond grades and test scores. They look for young, impactful, smart kids, who demonstrate leadership, initiative, creativity, and the intent to make an impact in the world they live in. Bentwater Volunteer Families can help provide these things by having students hold officer positions, help run meetings, and help coordinate, plan, and work events.

Bentwater Volunteer Families embodies the spirit of community service, bringing together individuals and families who share a common desire to give back. Founded on the principle that small acts of kindness can create significant positive change, the organization has grown steadily, fostering a culture where volunteering is not just a task, but a way of life.
