Four NSRW members were delegates to the Republican Party of Texas convention in San Antonio in May, and another was a guest. Karen Darcy, Sharon O’Neil, Ann Kate, and Pam Martin attended and participated in the voting, while Genette Stanton observed at all of the sessions. The hectic three days were taken up with speakers, workshops, officer elections, and the Platform of the Party. In between, some of the group attended the Texas Federation of Republican Women event at the Alamo, and all were able to fit in a photo with Ellie, the huge background for many photos. Genette ran into U.S. Senator John Cornyn (TX) and was photographed with him. All felt the convention was a great learning experience and a chance to meet Republicans from all around the state.
