Bermuda Run Garden Club Welcomes Expert Speaker Despite Stormy Weather

A lovely example of how mostly succulents of varying colors, heights, shapes and textures make a stunning centerpiece.
Neither a tornado warning, nor the driving rain, nor March’s blustery winds could keep the Bermuda Run Garden Club from gathering at the East Club House on March 5. Hostesses Shelby Nichols and Pat Wagner welcomed members for an enlightening presentation by Jennifer Church of Mitchell’s Greenhouse in King, North Carolina.
Jennifer captivated the group with a slideshow packed with expert tips on growing thriving plants. From propagation and fertilization to understanding which plants flourish in low, medium, or bright light, she shared invaluable insights. A highlight of her talk was learning about pet-friendly indoor plants—essential knowledge for those with furry family members.
Bringing her expertise to life, Jennifer also displayed a stunning variety of plants, which were available for purchase after the meeting. Mitchell’s Greenhouse is a trusted source for the Garden Club’s beloved geraniums, and their annual sale is in full swing. Orders are being taken now, with delivery set for April 15.
In other news, the Club approved a donation to the Japanese Gardens Foundation, supporting the preservation of these serene and historic spaces. Looking ahead, members can mark their calendars for the next shredding event, scheduled for April 12 at the Kinderton location.
