Seasonal Reflections and Gratitude

October is a time when the world around us transforms, inviting us to embrace change and find joy in the simple pleasures of the season.

I have to admit, when I sat down to write the publisher’s note this month, I couldn’t help but smile — huge, actually. My mind was flooded with all the things I love about October: cooler temperatures, crisp air, crunchy leaves, cozy sweaters, jack-o-lanterns, trick-or-treating (and Halloween candy!), bonfires and hayrides, apple picking, pumpkin patches … I could go on and on. These are the spooky season favorites we all know and love.

Among these autumnal delights, though, I want to take a deliberate moment to acknowledge Indigenous Peoples’ Day, celebrated on the second Monday in October. First nationally commemorated in 2021, this day is a poignant reminder of our nation's complex history and an opportunity to honor the cultures, histories, and contributions of Native Americans. For me, this holiday prompts personal gratitude and reflection on the resilience and strength of Indigenous communities, who have faced generations of hardship with courage and spirit.

Speaking of gratitude, we at Stroll Bermuda Run are deeply thankful to our partners, contributors, and readers. Your support and inspiration drive us to deliver content each month that genuinely resonates with our community. Your feedback and engagement help shape the direction of Stroll Bermuda Run, ensuring it remains relevant and meaningful. Each issue we publish is a testament to the collective efforts of our dedicated team and the invaluable input we receive from you, our readers. We feel privileged to be on this journey with you and look forward to continuing to share the stories that connect us.

I hope you seek out and find much joy in the festive spirit this month brings. Take an extra moment to savor a warm mug of cider or relish a slow, cozy evening by the fire. The holidays are just around the corner, and there is so much to look forward to.
