‘Twas the Eve before Christmas

‘Twas the Eve before Christmas
when Miss. Lily did arrive,
A special guest for Santa;
stars sparkling in her eyes.

After greeting with a hug,
Mrs. Claus brought them some goodies!
Santa drank all the milk;
And Lily ate the cookies!

“I’ve made a very lengthy list,
and even checked it twice;
it tells who has been naughty,
as well as who’s been nice.”

Santa motioned to sweet Lily,
“Come close, let’s take a look!
I hope that we will find your name
in my special NICE girl book!”

“Your name it IS in here!”
Santa said so happily,
“Now let’s go have some fun!
I’ve got so much you should see!”

“Come sit here on my lap,
and let’s chat for just a few;
what gifts is it you’re wanting
for Santa to bring to you?”

Lily answered sweet and soft
her wishes just a few,
“A princess, and an airplane,
and a scooter that is blue”.

“I know that toys are fun,
but there’s one gift like no other;
God’s grace and love he gives to us,
we must share it with each other.”

Santa told her of his plan
to make it far and near,
he was going to be so busy
he’d been planning this all year!

They played “Zoom The Airplane”
and many other things,
Lily giggled so happily
and Santa’s heart how it did sing!

Lily shook Santas bell
and they played with other toys,
they had lots of fun together;
her smile brought him much joy!

St. Nick he was aglow,
as he watched sweet Lily play,
He believed she was special girl,
you could tell this right away!

“My elves they have been busy,
they’ve made so many toys,
to leave on Christmas Eve
for all good girls and boys!”

“There is one very special gift
I need your help to make!
My elves are just too busy
and there’s no more time to wait!”

This very, very special gift
Santa asked Lily to hold,
a box filled up with magic
it’s worth was more than gold!

“The magic in this box
is something you must share,
Its the love you carry in your heart,
you can give it anywhere!”

Lily’s eyes twinkled bright and blue,
her smile held so much love
Santa knew that she most definitely
was a gift from God above.

“It’s time for me to go!
I’ve got to load my sled!
I css see that you are tired;
and need to rest your head!”

A hug and kiss she gave him;
as he chuckled with delight,
“Merry Christmas to all!” he smiled and said,
“And to all a very good night!”
