XP League Asheville offers competitive esports in a structured and encouraging environment.

Owners of XP League Asheville Cheryl & Mark Chambers have two sons two sons: Andrew, 12, and Adam, 9.

If you’re looking to have fun gaming on a team, or looking to prepare for high school, college or professional gaming, head to XP League Asheville, a competitive and positive e-sports league in Arden. Owners Mark and Cheryl Chambers are providing a healthy gaming environment that has a positive impact on gamers ages 7–17. With 18 new computers, XP League offers in-person gaming with coach-led teams, one-of-a-kind tournaments and pro-team partnerships. In their league, they are called the Asheville Bears.

XP League is a safe and encouraging social environment for kids to enjoy video games within boundaries. “We offer valuable life lessons while creating a protective fence around the vast, open playground of online gaming,” Mark says. XP League provides solutions to the challenges that arise from the rapidly evolving world of video games, including Apex Legends, Fortnite, League of Legends, Minecraft, Rocket League, Overwatch 2 and VALORANT. Parents seek structure, communication and positivity for their family’s gaming experiences, and that’s exactly what XP League provides. Their coaches encourage positive attitudes and lots of high-fives!

Cheryl says, “We are excited about the positive impact this innovative league is already having on the lives of young gamers across the country, and we are thrilled to bring this to our kids in Asheville.” One example of personal growth is an 8-year-old boy who once would slam his fist on the table after getting knocked out of Fortnite. With their coaching, he now can take a deep breath and calmly put the controller down. Coaches praised him for his reaction and celebrated his growth!

Mark and Cheryl have two sons: Andrew, 12, and Adam, 9. Cheryl has been an officer with the PTO at Avery’s Creek Elementary and Koontz Intermediate School for the last six years. Mark has been a volunteer coach for several youth sports teams.

An unexpected bonus for XP League Asheville is the ability to connect with kids who have various medical conditions and are typically excluded from traditional sports. XP League gives back to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and is now exploring opportunities to help local parent-teacher groups and work with mentoring groups like Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
