JULY

1. Resident Recipe
Red, White and Blue Frozen Fruit Salad
If you are looking for something seasonal, reasonably healthy, ice cold, visually appealing, delicious and something you have not made before, this is the dessert to try. This may also be the frozen treat that you will decide to make over and over. After making it the first time, I could think of a number of fruits I could use in the recipe to change it up a little. I have made the recipe more than once and we enjoy it every time. Happy 4th of July!

2. Meet Your Neighbor
Brian & Judy Lee
Both Brian and Judy Lee are native North Texans who met at Baylor University and married in 1980. After living in Mount Pleasant for 35 years where they raised their 3 children and owned an El Chico franchise (among other entrepreneurial endeavors), Brian and Judy decided to move to the Rockwall area to be closer to family. They found their home on Timberline Drive in 2023 and after a number of renovations, became Buffalo Creek residents that December.

3. Precious Pets
Hannah & Big Bill
Life-long dog lovers April and Matthew Stone adopted Bill, a 200 lb. English Mastiff, from friends in December 2021. He joined Hannah, a mixed breed pup rescued in 2013. These two adopted fur-babies have brought endless joy to the Stone family, including daughters Ella and Lilah.

4. Kids and Athletes
Ella Ory
When Ella was 6-years old she knew that she loved tumbling. So her mom put her in All Star Cheer where she could have stunts, tumbling and dance. By far her biggest strength is tumbling! She loves working on new skills and will take a lesson or practice on her trampoline every chance she gets. Now 13, everything has worked out!! Grades stayed great, and she manages to have lots of fun with friends! Over the summer, the slower part of the cheer season, she plays flag football and have lots of fun!

6. Travel Tales
Cruising Northern Europe
This spring we enjoyed a 12-day cruise around northern Europe. The cruise was not on the rivers like we did last year, but rather around the Atlantic and through the English Channel starting from Lisbon, Portugal and terminating in Southampton England with stops in Spain, France, the Netherlands and finally Germany. In each port we enjoyed excursions to some amazing and beautiful sites. This was a most enjoyable trip that we totally recommend.
