Racquet and Jog opened their Rockwall store in November 2016 with Andy and Chesley Hiles at the helm. An iconic East Texas brand that was founded in Longview in 1978 by Merle Grimes, the Rockwall location has become iconic in its own right, having developed the reputation as the place to buy athletic and lifestyle shoes and gear in Rockwall County.   

 

Josh Sparks was recently named CEO of the company and operates out of the Longview store. Josh and Andy go back several years as work colleagues and friends.  As CEO, Josh wears many hats and is sometimes called the “Firefighter” for all he does to keep the operations of the company under control and putting out the inevitable “fires” that come up in any small business. As General Manager, Andy oversees Racquet and Jog’s 4 locations—Longview, Texarkana, Rockwall, and most recently Waxahachie that opened this past July—working directly with Josh to ensure the company is consistent in implementing its procedures, processes and core values. Chesley Hiles is busy behind the scenes as buyer for all 4 locations.

Across its 4 locations, Racquet and Jog employs 90 associates, primarily high school and college students. School, extra-curricular activities, and athletics take priority during scheduling. Racquet and Jog is a long-time member of the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce and recently joined the Waxahachie Chamber.  Andy and Chesley are actively involved in the National Charity League and the Children’s Advocacy Center and Chesley is a member of Rockwall Women’s League. Racquet and Jog sponsors several community and athletic events, including the recent Hero’s Day ½ marathon and pickle ball tournament in McClendon-Chisholm.
