Meet Maggie Mae

Maggie Mae is the sweetest girl. She’s a toy parti-poodle who was born on October 20, 2007. Because Maggie Mae is so tiny and outgoing, she was named after the character Maggie in Chappaqua resident Jean van Leeuwen’s picture book, “Wait for Me!” Said Maggie McGee.
Known for walking in town and her nose for news, she became the “author” of the Maggie Mae Pup Reporter columns in local magazines for many years, giving great advice to humans and canines.
Maggie Mae loves people and is so beloved in our town that she was featured in the Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival mural painted by Sophie Mendelson on South Greeley Avenue.
