Meet Dudley
Hi! I’m Dudley, a cream-colored Mini Goldendoodle living with my human mom and dad in Chappaqua. I am ten years old, converted to human years, making my mom and I the same age!
Everyone says I’m a good boy, and I certainly try to be. I may be a tad spoiled, but that’s what happens when you’re the baby of the family. But I am so sweet and cuddly, and it’s hard to get angry at me when I look at you with my big brown eyes. I am a bit of a jock: I can catch a ball in mid-air most of the time, but I don’t mind running for it, either. I like any outdoor adventure: swimming (no matter how cold the water is), hiking, kayaking (I wear a life vest and sit between my parents), and riding on the bike path in my special trailer. What’s my biggest fear? Thunder. Then it’s time for me to hide in the bathroom.
On September 29, 2012, I traveled from Ohio to Newark Airport by plane. I met my parents for the first time in the cargo area. I was tiny and a little scared, but when we arrived in Chappaqua, I felt safe and loved by my forever family. Most of the time, it’s just my mom and dad and me, but sometimes my three human brothers and my human sister come to visit. One of my brothers and his fiancée have a baby who is always excited to see me, even though I act a little shy. My sister and her boyfriend bring their rescue dog, Creature. It’s fun to have someone else who appreciates a good walk and a good bowl of kibble!
I am grateful for my life in Chappaqua. I enjoy greeting and being greeted by the neighborhood dogs, I appreciate the UPS man who always stops to give me a peanut butter biscuit, and I enjoy my grooming appointments at Wags and Whiskers. On weekends, we often travel to our house in the Berkshires. Then, on Sunday mornings, my dad takes me to the country store before he goes skiing, and the nice lady gives me a strip of bacon. I love that my dad lets me climb in his lap while watching TV and that my mom lets me sniff every bush on our walks, even on the most frigid days. I feel like the luckiest dog on Earth. Every day.
