Cheryl Deluca-Johnson, a resident of Chateau Elan, co-founded Street Grace in 2008 to combat child trafficking through awareness, education, advocacy, and collaboration. With a particular focus on the connection between foster care and trafficked children, Cheryl is committed to addressing prevention, intervention, and the restoration of young lives affected by exploitation.
Street Grace is a faith-based organization utilizing evidence-based strategies to eradicate the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC). By focusing on prevention, protection, policy, and pursuit, Street Grace tackles CSEC, which occurs when a child is sexually exploited in exchange for something of value—whether received by the child or a third party.
On November 7th, over 500 guests gathered for An Evening with Ernie Johnson and Charles Barkley, a powerful event dedicated to raising awareness and funds to protect children from exploitation. Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson shared heartfelt stories and personal reflections, highlighting the importance of protecting vulnerable children. Among the attendees were several Chateau Elan residents, eager to learn more about Street Grace’s innovative programs, including the highly acclaimed AI program, Transaction Intercept. This program identifies predators and disrupts purchasing attempts before they can occur, demonstrating the organization’s cutting-edge approach to combating exploitation.
The evening was a resounding success, raising over $500,000 and serving as the kickoff for Street Grace’s ambitious $2M year-end campaign. The event spotlighted the organization’s ongoing mission to fight child exploitation through prevention and advocacy, inspiring attendees to take action and support the cause.
Adding a special touch to the night, the Voices of Lee performed soul-stirring musical numbers that uplifted and inspired the audience. The event also set the stage for future Street Grace initiatives, emphasizing the crucial role community support plays in eradicating the commercial sexual exploitation of children.
