Layna Weldon: Turning Life’s Challenges into a Mission of Care

Layna Weldon’s mission is both straightforward and deeply impactful: “We strive to be the best part of someone’s worst day,” she shares. Her passion is rooted in personal experiences that highlighted the importance of adequate insurance. Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at just 9 years old, Layna quickly learned the necessity of health coverage for managing ongoing medical needs. Later in life, before the Affordable Care Act (ACA), she had to prioritize a career with excellent benefits to ensure access to essential medical supplies. Adding to this, a loved one’s devastating accident in 2006 left them a paraplegic without insurance, leading to a 15-year battle with the Medicaid system before their passing.

“It’s my goal to make sure this doesn’t happen to my customers,” Layna says. She is passionate about helping individuals and families prepare for life’s uncertainties, enabling them to pursue their goals and dreams with confidence. At her State Farm agency, every call is answered by a real person ready to address unique personal or business insurance needs. Layna and her team are dedicated to guiding clients through life’s milestones and challenges.

Layna emphasizes the importance of regular conversations with your insurance agent to review and adjust your coverage. Key areas of focus include liability limits and life insurance, ensuring that families are prepared for the unexpected. She encourages customers to ask: Is your income protected? Do you have enough saved for retirement if you live longer than expected? “Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed,” Layna cautions. “We all work hard to build our lives, but many lack the protections needed to prevent unexpected events—like disability, loss of income, or premature death—from undoing that hard work.”

Before becoming a State Farm agent, Layna spent 20 years as a banker in Gwinnett County, helping small business owners achieve their goals. Her dream of business ownership came true when a State Farm recruiter presented her with an opportunity she couldn’t resist. After extensive research, prayer, and reflection, she opened her State Farm agency on November 1, 2019, in Flowery Branch, where she also lives and works. “It was the best decision of my life,” she says. “This is an amazing community, and it’s where I plan to stay for many years to come.” This November, Layna proudly celebrates five years of serving the Flowery Branch community.

An active and dedicated member of the Flowery Branch and Hall County community, Layna serves as the 2023/2024 president of South Hall Rotary. She is also a board member and ambassador for the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, where she has been recognized twice as a Small Business Partner. Additionally, she is a founding member of Flowery Branch’s BNI chapter and has supported both the Chateau Elan Military Support Foundation and Lanier Christian Academy for the past five years. As Layna says, “We’re committed to making this community a better place to live, work, and play.”

In addition to her community involvement, Layna is a proud mother to three children: Tristan (22), Taylor (10), and Reagan (9). She is also the owner of two beloved fur babies, Lucky and Toby, who serve as the cheerful mascots of her State Farm agency.

Layna encourages anyone to reach out to her, even for non-insurance-related matters. “I’m well-connected in the community and happy to help, whether it’s over coffee or pointing you in the right direction,” she says.

“I truly love and care about people. There are many insurance agents out there, but I’m passionate about helping our customers and making a difference. When you better someone’s situation or secure their quality of life through thoughtful planning, you impact generations to come. That’s God’s work, and I am merely a vessel to glorify Him.”Layna Weldon
