Braselton Funeral Home: Honoring Lives with Compassion and Tradition
In the heart of Braselton, Georgia, Braselton Funeral Home has been serving families with care, compassion, and a commitment to excellence for eight years. Originally founded by Jack and Janice Frost and now owned by Kevin Wetzel, the funeral home is managed by Shane Presgraves. Braselton Funeral Home offers both traditional and non-traditional funeral services, including cremations and Celebrations of Life, as well as pre-need arrangements to ease the emotional burden on families during difficult times.
A Calling to Serve
Shane Presgraves’ journey into funeral service began at a young age. "Being the son of a local pastor, I felt the calling to serve others early on," he shares. Starting at just 13, Shane spent his summers working at a local funeral home, where his passion for helping families through one of life's hardest moments took root. Though financial challenges initially prevented him from pursuing mortuary college, Shane's dedication never wavered. After a successful 20-year career in law enforcement, he returned to his calling, graduating with honors from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service.
Setting the Standard for Southern Charm and Professionalism
Situated at 5257 Highway 53 in the historic 108-year-old Braselton-Stover home, Braselton Funeral Home exudes a unique blend of southern charm and professionalism to create a welcoming space for all of life’s occasions. Featuring a traditional chapel, an event center for receptions, and a picturesque flower garden, the funeral home offers a peaceful setting where families can honor and say goodbye to their loved ones in a meaningful and personal way.
"Our goal is to create personalized services that truly reflect the lives and legacies of those who have passed," Shane explains. Whether it’s a traditional service or a more contemporary Celebration of Life, the team at Braselton Funeral Home is dedicated to honoring the individuality of every person they serve.
A Commitment to the Community
Shane’s deep connection to the Braselton area, where he has lived for 54 years, drives his commitment to the community. He is a member of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and values the opportunity to give back to the families of Jackson, Barrow, Hall, and Gwinnett counties. Beyond business, Shane enjoys time with his wife, Holly, their four children, and six grandchildren, creating cherished memories of his own. They also have two beloved Boxers, Sophie and Dooley, who are part of the family and bring joy to their daily lives.
Plan Ahead for Peace of Mind
For Shane, one of the most fulfilling aspects of his work is helping families plan ahead. “It’s important to know your final wishes will be honored and that you’ve taken a huge step in reducing the hardship on your family,” he advises. By offering pre-need arrangements, Braselton Funeral Home ensures that families are prepared, allowing them to focus on healing when the time comes.
