Is there a story behind how you got your name?
Roxie was just a cute name that fit my personality. Dulcie (short for Dulcinea) was named by the breeder where I was born...in Lithuania. I even have a passport!

How did you find your humans?
Roxie: My humans were looking for a longhaired standard dachshund puppy. We can be hard to find. Everyone seems to want miniatures, not standard-sized. So, Mom flew to Madison, Wisconsin to pick me up when I was 12 weeks old.
Dulcie: I came to the USA when I was 12 weeks old from Lithuania. I was sold to a dachshund breeder. But, when I was unable to be bred due to a physical flaw, I was sold as a pet. Mom and Dad came to get me in Virginia Beach where I had been living since leaving Lithuania.

Tell us about your personality:
Dulcie and I are the best friends. We do everything together. Since Dulcie moved in 4 years ago, we have never had an argument. We keep our humans safe from squirrels, the mail lady, the Amazon delivery guy, and all other dogs who think they should walk by our house. We are better than that security system they installed in the house. I (Roxie) am trained to go into nursing homes to visit the people there. Dulcie is a little too rambunctious for that activity. When we had our own pool, I used to love to swim and play fetch in the pool. Mom had to hide my ball to make me quit.

What do people, especially your humans, like best about you?
They love our gentle personalities and easygoing manner. We love everybody we meet and can't wait for dinner guests and house guests to arrive. We can always tell they are coming long before they get there.
All modesty aside, we are beautiful. Especially Dulcie who comes from a long line of dog show champions.

Any fun stories to tell:
Roxie: I like toys, especially my plastic ball. Dulcie isn't interested in toys at all until I am playing with my ball. She always comes over and takes it right out of my mouth! I have to go complain to Mom or Dad. After a lot of barking, they finally take it away from Dulcie and give it back to me. Of course, then I have to go and tease Dulcie that I have my ball back. She usually takes it again and we start all over.
