Let me introduce you to Advance Pools, LLC. My name is Milton Lopez and I’m the Founder and CEO. As a pool company, we do weekly maintenance that involves cleaning, chemical balance, checking the equipment, repairs, sales, and installation of heaters, motors, salt systems as well as stain treatments and leak detection.
Originally from Uruguay, we moved to Hilton Head in 2000 and fell in love with the Lowcountry. I’ve been married to Gabriela for 24 years and we have a 23-year-old daughter, Maria, and two pets Maggie, a female dog, and Vega, a female cat. In our free time, we enjoy boating and RV camping.
My first training in the pool industry was the same year we moved here, working in Haig Point, Daufuskie Island. A couple of years later I was hired by Year Round Pool Company where I worked as a pool technician, Supervisor, Production Manager, and Regional Manager, having the chance to train with the best professionals and assist in several courses and seminars. Also, received my Certified Pool Operator License and National Swimming Pool Foundation Certification.
In 2007 I founded Advance Pools and it’s been a blessing. We started with a few commercial accounts from Savannah to Beaufort but later went towards the residential side. Personally I enjoy it more because we can build a relationship, a bond based in trust and honesty.
What inspired me to start my own business was the desire to provide a more personalized service.As a manager, working for another company, I used to go out and hear the homeowners’ complaints and that’s where I really learned about the needs.
My wife owned and worked in the house cleaning service business until 5 years ago when she hurt her shoulder and I convinced her to come work with me. That ended up being an excellent move for our company as well. She’s fully trained and is working as our Field Supervisor.
A few things that make us different are; that our monthly rate includes all the chemicals, you’ll always have the same technician in your pool, it’ll always be done the same day and approximately around the same time, and your phone call is answered by the owner all the time and you receive responses right away.
We’re proud to have a good and professional team and invest in top-of-the-line equipment, tools, and chemicals for your pools and spas.
What set us apart from others is the level of commitment, the extra miles we go, and sharing wisdom, advice, and ideas. And certainly, the customer service we have.
As a pool expert, the advice I can offer to homeowners is to ask questions to your pool person about your chemistry, equipment, new technologies, renovations.etc. They should be able to answer all your questions or concerns. At the time to renovate, make expensive repairs or equipment replacements, get a few different quotes, or get a second opinion. Advance Pools also offers lower pool levels during Hurricane season which is really important in this area.
To finish, I’d like to say Advance Pools doesn’t usually advertise. We always worked from word of mouth, until we found Stroll magazine and we believe in their commitment to Colleton River and we see great potential in the neighborhood.
