Claire and Matthew did a magnificent job planning our Mediterranean cruise on Regent's newest ship the Grandeur. Since we decided on the 3 day pre-cruise trip to Prague the details became much more complicated with my husband needing wheelchair assistance. Claire and Matthew handled every issue flawlessly. We had 3 legs to our Prague flight and all the assistance was perfect, lots of work on their part. The ship was gorgeous, and every detail was perfect and they were able to get us on all the excursions we wanted! 14 wonderful days on our vacation. Claire and Matthew lived in Maryland for many years. South Carolina was on their retirement destination bucket list. After visiting friends in Berkley Hall, they fell in love with the Low Country and decided to make Margaritaville their forever home. “We feel like we are on an endless vacation. And that only contributed to our wanderlust & travel bucket list."

 

Matthew is a former Army intelligence officer and is semi-retired as a private contractor in the industrial building sector. In 2022, Claire completed her 52-year career in the car industry, retiring as the senior group manager for Hyundai Parts & Service in the Mid-Atlantic region.

 

Soon before Claire's retirement, she rediscovered her passion for travel while helping friends plan for their upcoming land and sea vacations. Everyone agreed that Claire would make an excellent travel advisor. Not long afterward, they discovered the Cruise Planners, a military-friendly franchise--successful beyond our dreams.

 

Claire and Matthew’s journey is a testament to the serendipitous nature of life. Growing up during the dynamic 1960s and 70s—Claire in the Detroit area and Matthew in the DC capitol region—shaped their perspectives as they navigated through careers, marriages, and parenthood. They met in 2015 via a dating site, got engaged on Claire’s 60th birthday in 2016, and were married on Matthew’s birthday the following year.

 

Claire and Matthew serve in a variety of ministries at Cornerstone Bluffton. And they are a certified chaplain couple with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team, supporting Samaritan’s Purse disaster recovery operations. "God has demonstrated great mercy and grace to us over the course of our lives, so we can't help but show and share the love of Jesus to neighbors near and far."
