What Fall Means to Hudson
Mom: How old are you?
Hudson: 3
Mom: How old will you be next year?
Hudson: 6
Mom: Whoa buddy, slow down. Let's try 4 first.
Mom: Do you remember Halloween last year? What did we do?
Hudson: I ate candy.
Mom: What did you dress up as?
Hudson: Excavator. (He definitely was not. He was Waldo from Where’s Waldo.)
Mom: What do you want to dress up as for Halloween this year?
Hudson: A trash truck.
Mom: What is it you like about a trash truck?
Hudson: It picks up garbage.
Mom: What would be your favorite treat to get at Halloween?
Hudson: Gummy Bears and granola bars.
Mom: Are you excited to go to the pumpkin patch?
Hudson: No, it's too scary.
Mom: That's not true, you loved it last year! Don’t you remember riding on the tractor, eating popcorn and going down the slide?
Hudson: Oh yea! And the duck in the water! (You used a water pump to pump a duck down a water trough. He could’ve done this all day!)
Mom: Do you remember going to the apple orchard last year and picking apples off the tree?
Hudson: Yes, there were yucky apples! (He seems to think immediately of the rotten apples on the ground. Why? I don’t know. He’s 3.)
Mom: What's your favorite way to eat an apple?
Hudson: With peanut butter, and making applesauce with Mom.
Mom: Mommy loves walking around the neighborhood with all the fall colors, what are your favorite things to do on our walks?
Hudson: I like (to count) the basketball hoops, going to see the books (the free little library on Sewell St.), picking up sticks along the way, and go see the wrecking ball (what he calls the frisbee golf goals on Woodscrest).
Mom: What else do you like about living in our neighborhood?
Hudson: Mommy’s work.
Mom: Where does Mommy work?
Hudson: Fyzical.
Mom: What does Mommy do for work?
Hudson: Exercise! (aka physical therapist assistant, but this is accurate in my book.)
Mom: What do you like most about Fyzical?
Hudson: Playing with the lights (blaze pods), and having chili and eating cookies (the Stroll chili cook off last year- he absolutely loved this event and still talks about it).
