Shane McCann and Ian Harden have both lived in Flying Horse for over a decade and witnessed the amazing growth Colorado Springs has seen during that time. 

Shane grew up in Florida and after playing football at Quincy University for a year, then decided to transfer to Colorado State University to study Public Relations. Shane loved his time in Fort Collins and grew very fond of what all Colorado offered (especially the Colorado summers). After moving back to Jacksonville, Florida for a few years after college, he moved back to Denver, Colorado in 2004 to start a medical sales career. 

Shane met his wife (Laura) and after starting a family in 2008, they ended up moving to Colorado Springs and settling in Flying Horse. He has spent the last 20 plus years in medical sales and loves being a part of the Colorado Springs community. 

Ian was raised in Metro Denver (Aurora) before heading to Mount Vernon, Iowa for his studies. At Cornell College, Ian was an All-Conference baseball player and obtained Bachelors degrees in Economics and Education.  Little did he know at the time, but choosing to go to a small school in Iowa was the best decision he would make. During his sophomore year, his roommate needed a French book for a class and saw that Kimberly (someone he knew Ian had a crush on) had one for rent. He reached out and had Kimberly come over to deliver the book. Ian took advantage of that time to chat Kimberly up and the rest is history. After graduating from Cornell, Ian and Kimberly moved to Omaha, Nebraska for Kimberly to attend medical school at the University of Nebraska. While in Omaha, Ian worked in banking and also obtained his Masters of Business Administration from Bellevue University. After obtaining his Masters Degree, Ian taught community college finance classes to high school students through the Millard School District Entrepreneurship Academy. This was the perfect job for Ian because it combined his business background with his love of educating and working with kids. When Kim finished her Residency in Anesthesiology, they moved back home (for Ian) to Colorado and settled in Colorado Springs. Flying Horse is where they raise their now growing family. With the move, Ian decided that staying home was best and has been focusing on raising their children the last 13 years.

HOW DID COLORADO SLIM COME TO BE?
Over the last year, Ian and Kimberly had seen the benefits of GLP-1 medications, as they have become very popular. With celebrities like Oprah and Charles Barkley speaking about their successes Ian and Kim started learning more and more about GLP-1’s. They had a lot of discussions about how these medications can improve the lives of so many people, from individuals who need to lose hundreds of pounds to others who have a stubborn 10-20 pounds they want to lose. 

Fast forward to March of this year and Shane reached out to Ian to discuss a new business he had been researching and looking to open. Ian and Shane immediately connected on the idea of bringing GLP-1 medications through a trusted source to the Colorado Springs market. They have teamed up with other clinics around the country to create a co-op to find the right compounding pharmacies and physician partners to make sure they have the best FDA regulated GLP-1 medications to offer. Though, they love to see their patients in their physical office located off of North Gate Boulevard and Struthers Road, they can virtually serve patients all over the country and currently have patients from CO, NM, TX, LA, MS, and OH.
