James City Lions Club is Grateful for Community Support

The James City Lions Club's mission is to serve. Members volunteer their time and resources to provide a variety of programs including vision and hearing screenings, hunger relief, and environment and youth programs. This service is accomplished with financing raised through festive fundraising events and the club members are grateful to the Greater Williamsburg community for their support.

The Spring Festival on May 14th at Ford’s Colony Country Club with a grilled cookout buffet dinner and games including cornhole and putting competitions, was highly successful and club members thank all of the attendees and businesses that supported this event. One of the annual summer programs, delivering weekday lunches for almost 200 underserved school children, recently launched with this critical financial assistance.

The next enjoyable fundraising opportunity is the annual James City Lions Club Golf Tournament, scheduled for September 13th, at Ford’s Colony Country Club’s Marsh Hawk course.  The first tee time begins at 8:00 a.m. and the tournament normally takes about four hours to complete. A boxed lunch and refreshment choice will be provided.

This charity golf tournament supports many of the club’s service projects and organizations in the community such as Williamsburg House of Mercy, FISH, Salvation Army and Grove Christian Outreach, as well as vision, hearing and diabetes screenings, and providing high school scholarships.

Save the date and look for more tournament information soon. Business and individual sponsorships are available to help raise the funds needed to support our community. Contact a James City Lions Club member for sponsorship details and to sign up a foursome or as an individual golfer. The tournament offers many opportunities to win golfing prizes and donated raffle items. For more information see the Club’s website at https://www.e-clubhouse.org/sites/james_city/
