When and where do you adopt your pet?

We adopted him in December of 2020. We got him from an organization that saves beagles from kill shelters. Frodo was originally from South Carolina, but we picked him up in Philadelphia from the Rescue Express.

What made you decide to make your home your pets forever home?

Originally we had asked for him, but he was already taken by another family, and they offered us his brother, but he didn’t look the same. We found out a couple days later that the family that offered to take Frodo was no longer going to adopt him. We called as soon as we found out, and now he lives with us.

How did you get his name?

His name used to be Fred, but we knew someone named Fred, and we didn’t think it fit him, so we named him after a heroic character, named Frodo Baggins, from Lord of the Rings.

Does your pet have any favorite toys, places to sleep, or visit?

Frodo loves to hide under our beds. He also likes to hide under the couches. He has a lot of favorite toys although some of his favorites include a giraffe we named Mr. Blue Sky and some carrots that you can put kibble in. At night, he sleeps in my parent's room.

Tell us something quirky or funny that your pet does.

Frodo likes to roll around in the grass when he smells something he likes. He also loves to hike. We like to take him on adventures all around Pennsylvania.

How has having your pet made your life better?

Having Frodo has made my life better because he helps to relieve my stress and makes me feel happier. He seems to always know when I’m upset.

Is there anything else you want to tell the neighbors about your pet?

Frodo is a very friendly pup! He loves to play with his friends and go on walks, so if you ever see us around the neighborhood with him, please say hi! He loves free scratches!
