Playtime (+): Where Fun Meets Flexibility in Childcare

A Family Legacy of Care
Robin grew up in North Dakota before moving to Oklahoma and establishing Playtime + with her family. Now she has three grown children and seven grandchildren, ranging from 6 months to 12 years old. Her life has always revolved around children. Her kids grew up at Playtime +, and now, she enjoys the privilege of bringing her grandchildren, who love the experience just as much.

The Journey to Playtime(+)
When Robin and her family moved to Oklahoma, they had no family living close by. After personally finding a need for flexible childcare—whether for date nights, appointments, or socialization—they opened Playtime (+). Originally operating late hours and weekends, the center has since evolved into a childcare with full-time, part-time, and hourly drop-in options. They also offer seasonal camps, lock-ins and more. One of their most beloved offerings are their monthly “Date Nights,” where parents can enjoy a well-deserved evening out while their children engage in fun, supervised activities.

For more than three decades, Playtime(+) has been a cornerstone of the Broken Arrow community, offering flexible and engaging childcare options. Founded in 1992 by Robin and her family, this beloved childcare center was born out of a need for a safe, fun, and reliable place for children while parents took care of daily responsibilities.

Why Playtime(+)
Playtime + was founded on a love for children and an understanding that not every parent works a traditional 8:00-5:00 schedule. It is the most flexible childcare center in Broken Arrow, catering to various needs—whether parents need coverage for work, an appointment, or an unexpected school closure.

A Passion for Play-Based Learning
At Playtime (+), the philosophy is simple: children learn best through play. While cognitive learning (left-brain development) is important, social skills (right-brain development) are equally crucial. When children are given the opportunity to play and interact, they develop problem-solving skills, teamwork, and emotional intelligence—all while having fun and developing the social skills and confidence that make them successful today and in the future. The facility’s large outdoor playground and full-sized indoor gym ensure kids get plenty of physical activity alongside their age-appropriate curriculum.

What Makes Playtime (+) Unique?
Flexibility sets Playtime + apart from traditional childcare centers. Families can choose from full-day care, part-time care, or even just an hour or two as needed. Another key service is transportation—Playtime (+) offers transport to and from most Broken Arrow schools, whether for one day or five days a week. Playtime(+) boasts a full-size gym and a kitchen, perfect for hosting parties and special events as well.

Advice from a Childcare Expert
Robin has learned more from children than she ever did while earning her degrees in legal studies, business, and education. Her best advice to parents? Let them be little. Listen to them, as children often have great instincts. Most importantly, enjoy them—and bring them to Playtime (+) for enriching experiences filled with laughter and learning.

A Place Where Children Thrive
Robin’s favorite part of running Playtime (+) is witnessing the joy of children making new friends and engaging in imaginative play. Seeing kids laugh and grow together is what makes every day special. It's so nice to have children that used to come to Playtime (+) as kids now bringing their children here.

Stay Connected

As Playtime (+) approaches their 33rd anniversary on October 3, 2025, the team looks forward to continuing its tradition of providing quality childcare to Broken Arrow families.
