Meet Bitty
An Adorable Italian Greyhound on the Rise

In February, we introduced you to Sandra Bell’s conformation Greyhound, Ty, and his impressive list of accomplishments. This month, we’re excited to introduce you to her newest show dog, Bitty, also known as Itty Bitty. Bitty is an Italian Greyhound, considered a toy breed, and he’s already making a name for himself in the world of dog shows.
Bitty’s call name, Alura Good Bit, is a nod to his mother, Goody. He was born on July 24, 2024, and has quickly become a playful addition to Sandra’s household. Bitty loves to play, especially when Sandra is on the phone—he'll pull out every toy in sight to get her attention, because he wants her to focus on him instead. Known for getting the zoomies, Bitty has boundless energy and especially enjoys chasing fuzzy toys. Despite his small size, he’s training hard to follow in Ty’s footsteps.
Like Ty, Bitty is also being trained by Sandra in the art of freestack, a technique where the dog positions its feet perfectly for shows. While still perfecting his form, Bitty is making great progress. In addition to his freestack training, Sandra is giving Bitty swimming lessons to help him build confidence. He’s also participated in Fast Cat for puppies, a 50-yard dash, which is a great introduction to the sport for young dogs.
One of Bitty’s favorite pastimes is hiding in small spaces. He loves to crawl into a tote to sleep or sneak under the bed for a cozy spot to rest. Despite his little size, Bitty is a bit timid, especially being one of the smaller dogs in a big household. However, Sandra spoils him with plenty of love and attention, ensuring he feels safe and cherished.
Bitty recently achieved a major milestone by finishing his championship in just three shows, a huge accomplishment for such a young dog. Sandra is now working on Bitty’s Grand Championship, and she is excited about the potential for future wins in the show ring. With his sweet temperament and determination, Bitty is sure to continue making his mark.
Sandra can’t wait to see Bitty grow and shine in future competitions, adding even more wins to the family’s collection. She’s also a member of the Claremore Kennel Club and the Mid-Continent (Tulsa) Kennel Club, where she connects with others who love the show world just as much as she does. If you’re interested in getting involved—whether it’s competing, helping out at events, or just learning more—you’d love it! Reach out to Sandra for details.
Stay tuned for a future issue to hear more about Sandra’s show cats and their journey!
