Where/why did you get your pet? We got Asher in 2016 in Arlington, TX. We were simply looking for a new addition to our family, and from the moment we met him, we knew he was the perfect fit!

 

Is there a story behind its name? There isn’t a particular story behind his name. We were just on our way home and discussed what name would suit him best. Asher felt just right for him!

 

Anything special or unusual about them (talents/quirks)? Asher has some charming quirks that make him truly special. He’s always keeping a vigilant eye on everyone—whether someone’s leaving or coming home, he’ll watch from the window and wait there until they return. It’s his way of showing how much he cares. He also has a playful side. He absolutely loves kicking around any soccer or basketball with his paws. It’s like he’s trying to join in the fun, and he’s surprisingly good at it!

 

What do you like best about your pet? Even as a puppy, Asher shows an incredible temperament and intelligence. He gets along well with everyone in the house and is always friendly and welcoming to new friends.

 

Any funny stories? It’s not exactly a funny story, but it’s one of bravery and deep gratitude. About a year after moving into our new home in Forrestridge, an electrical fire started in our shop at the back of our main house. It was 2 a.m., and Asher was desperately trying to wake my mother. Even going to the extent of biting her arm—something he has never done before.

At first, my mom thought he needed to go outside, but he tugged her towards the shop and showed her the fire. Thank you to him, we all got out of the house safely, just in time. The firefighters later told us that if we had discovered the fire even a few minutes later, it could have easily spread to our main house.

He was our hero that night, and we’ll always be grateful for his bravery and quick thinking. It’s incredible how Asher's instinct saved us. He is our guardian angel.

 

How spoiled is your pet? Asher is definitely quite spoiled! He even has his own pair of sunglasses and is the most loved model around. I’m meticulous about his diet and all his needs because I want him to be healthy and happy at all times.

 

 What else should we know about your pet and/or how your pet has enriched your home/family? Asher definitely brightens everyone's day! He has a remarkable sense for when someone is feeling down and will offer comfort. While he isn’t the biggest cuddle bug, he can get a bit jealous if he feels left out—he’ll nudge his way in and lay right on top of you to join in. He also loves to howl and "talk" with us.
