Mayweather, The Nine-Lives Tabby

Mayweather, a once-feral tabby, has earned his reputation for disappearing and reappearing, leaving his family to marvel at his seemingly immortal nature.

How long have you lived in Gates Mills, and what do you like most about the neighborhood?
We’ve been in Gates Mills for less than a year. We love the convenient location, with easy access to Wilson Mills and Mayfield retail stores, St. Francis Assisi, Heinen’s, and the schools.
Tell us about your pet!
His name is Mayweather. He’s a tabby with the distinctive “M” over his eyes.
When and how did Mayweather come to join your family?
Mayweather was a feral kitten found in Mentor. The Lake County Pets Facebook page is a great resource, and it’s where we learned about him.
Is there a story behind Mayweather’s name?
We’ve actually considered renaming him to "Lazarus"—there have been three too many times that we thought he was missing or dead, only for him to stroll through our backyard as if nothing happened!
What’s the one trait or behavior that makes Mayweather stand out from the rest?
His immortality, perhaps? He seems to have a habit of vanishing, and then he just reappears like nothing happened.
Does Mayweather have any unique talents or tricks?
That’s a mystery. He does go on walkabouts, but he never tells us where he’s been.
