Congratulations, you’re engaged!

Now the countdown begins to make your skin glow as much as your ring!

There's nothing more stunning than the beautiful bride on her wedding day. I've had the privilege of assisting brides with their pre-wedding beauty for a few decades now and my goal is always the same; to bring out each bride's individual inner beauty and style. The most important aspect of helping you look and feel your best is to tailor treatments specifically to your skin type and needs. The first step is to schedule a consultation with an aesthetician with broad experience to discuss your specific beauty goals, then get your calendar out to begin your countdown!

Nine - twelve months ahead:
Schedule a consultation to create a pre-wedding skin treatment plan. This is the time to start a home skincare regimen, especially if you’re new to active ingredients that will promote cell turnover and bring out your inner glow. These active ingredients include compounds like retinol, salicylic acid, vitamin C etc that target specific skin concerns and treat these concerns while improving overall skin condition. Your home skincare regimen will strengthen and prepare your skin for any future in-office treatments, as well as protect your skin from daily exposures. If you have not incorporated a daily sunscreen into your routine, now is a good time to start!

Six - nine months ahead:
Schedule your more aggressive treatments such as resurfacing lasers and peels. These treatments target texture and pigment irregularities in the skin and may require multiple sessions. Depending on the treatment, downtime can vary to less than a day to a week. Examples of lasers include the Nano Peel ® and HALO®. This is also a great time to consider body contouring procedures. Non-surgical fat reduction, non-invasive skin tightening, as well as more invasive procedures should be scheduled well ahead of time because they can take a few months to reveal full results.

Three - six months ahead:
Schedule treatments that may be new to you well ahead of time to ensure you have time to address any unexpected surprises: microneedling for textural issues, moderate chemical peels for skin tone, broadband light (BBL®) for sun spots or redness, Clear + Brilliant® for skin texture refinement and pore shrinking, injectable fillers for lifting/plumping, and/or neurotoxin injections for wrinkle relaxing. Speak with a certified aesthetician, nurse practitioner or medical doctor who is trained in each of these procedures to ensure you are getting a personalized and safe treatment! Some of these procedures have minimal downtime, such as broadband light and neurotoxins, but results can take days to weeks to be appreciated. Bruising and swelling can occur after any type of injection, so its best to plan ahead for a week when you do not expect to have any photos or big events.

Two weeks - three months ahead:
Schedule facials (such as HydraFacial) once a month to deeply cleanse, extract and hydrate skin. Schedule your injectable filler touch up and Botox/Dysport at least two weeks before the big event.

One week ahead:
Schedule a Classic Signature Facial with dermaplaning to give your skin a healthy glow and smooth surface for wedding day makeup. Avoid new products or new treatments at this time to minimize reactions. Also avoid the sun and be careful to keep sunscreen on hand to avoid sunburns or peeling.

*Include your neck, chest, back, arms in your treatment planning depending on your dress style!
