Jewels from the Garden
On September 15th & 16th, the Gates Mills Garden Club hosted an NGC Standard Flower Show. Here are some photos from the event, including youth division section A, class 3 winner, Vienna!
The beauty and bounty of nature at the transition from summer to fall set the scene for the Gates Mills Garden Club’s flower show, “Jewels from the Garden,” in mid-September. Held every two years at the garden club and open to the public, the flower show not only educated us about what we can grow in this area but also showcased the huge variety of activities associated with gardening: creative floral design, artistic crafts including jewelry and pressed flower pictures, and photography.
The show’s expanded youth division, “Sparkle,” was a spectacular feat that engaged children ages 3 to 18 years old, not only as contributors but also as organizers. The spontaneity and creativity of the children’s floral designs, crafts, and photography added a special dimension to the show.
Stay tuned as the dynamic Gates Mills Garden Club gears up for its next major endeavor, the “Through the Garden Gate” garden tour in June 2024.
