The Neidus Family

For nearly four decades, Stuart and Sally Neidus have called Gates Mills home. Their journey together began at Kent State University, where they met as students. Since then, they have built a family, successful careers, and a lasting connection to the Gates Mills community.

A Family with Deep Roots in Gates Mills
Stuart grew up in Cleveland Heights, while Sally hails from Avon Lake. The couple purchased their first home in Gates Mills in 1987, drawn by its charm and close-knit community. In 2002, they built their current home, solidifying their ties to the area.

Together, they raised three daughters—Whitney, Lindsey, and Kathryn—all of whom attended Gates Mills Elementary School before continuing through the Mayfield School System. Today, the Neidus family’s roots remain firmly planted in the community, as their daughters have carried on the family’s legacy of passion, entrepreneurship, and a strong connection to Northeast Ohio.

A Family of Go-Getters
Each member of the Neidus family brings unique skills, talents, and passions to the table. Their daughters have pursued diverse and dynamic careers, often crossing paths in surprising and inspiring ways.

Whitney, their eldest, is a Bowling Green graduate who has dedicated much of her career to child development. After studying at Kent, she led programming at Children Have Active Bodies and Minds (CHABAM) in Woodmere and was later recruited to oversee after-school programs at Hawken School. Her ability to organize and create impactful experiences made her a sought-after event planner, helping families bring their dream celebrations to life.  She and her husband David live with their 2 children, Trey and June in Orange.

Lindsey, after a study abroad program in Italy, moved to New York City upon completing her degree at Kent State. She began her career as a stylist for Conde Nast, working on high-profile fashion shoots, before being recruited by The Wall Street Journal under Dow Jones. There, she played a key role in planning and executing major events, including the CES Show in Las Vegas, helping WSJ reach a younger audience. She and her husband, Charles, now live in Moreland Hills with their two beloved dogs, Boone and Otis.

Kathryn, after studying in Italy during college, pursued a career in the culinary arts, working for some of Northeast Ohio’s most renowned restaurants, including Fire, L’Albatros, Blue Canyon, and Gavi’s. Kathryn, her husband Eric, and two children, Sophia and Benjamin make their home in Kirtland.

With a passion for food and a deep connection to her hometown, Kathryn ultimately joined forces with her sister Whitney, who had built a strong reputation in event planning. The three combined their talents to create an extraordinary culinary and event experience at StoneWater Golf Club, where Whitney manages events, special programs, and restaurant operations, Kathryn leads a culinary team of over 25 in creating high-end dining experiences and Lindsey leads all of the strategic planning, marketing, and PR.

A Family Affair at StoneWater Golf Club
Since 2017, Whitney, Lindsey, and Kathryn have played a pivotal role in the transformation of StoneWater Golf Club into a thriving hub of community activity, known for its exceptional dining, events, and family-friendly atmosphere at The Yard at StoneWater. Under their leadership, StoneWater has seen remarkable growth, with annual attendance now reaching approximately 40,000 guests per year They have also made it a priority to employ many local students and young professionals, strengthening the sense of community that is so important to the Neidus family.

For Stuart, who spent 17 years as the CEO of Anthony & Sylvan Pools, one of the largest pool builders in America, supporting his daughters in their venture has been a highlight of his professional career. With 50 years of business experience, he enjoys providing guidance to his daughters as they continue to expand their roles at StoneWater.

A Life Rooted in Gates Mills
When they first moved to Gates Mills, they had no idea how deeply the community would become a part of their family story. With their three daughters attending Gates Mills Elementary, spending summers at Gates Mills Camp & Junior Strawhat, and continuing through the Mayfield School System, the village became a cornerstone of their lives.

Their connection to the area goes beyond their own household. Through their family’s role at StoneWater Golf Club, they have helped to employ many Mayfield graduates and have actively supported the Mayfield Alumni Association. Their dedication to the community extends beyond the golf course as well. In fact, the Neidus family has proudly driven in the Gates Mills Fourth of July Parade for over 20 years, celebrating the town that holds such a special place in their hearts.

A Family of Entrepreneurs
With leadership in their DNA, the Neidus sisters have built an impressive and unique business. Whitney, an accomplished event planner, ensures that every special occasion at StoneWater is executed with precision. Lindsey’s experience managing multi-million-dollar events for the Wall Street Journal has positioned her as a powerhouse in growth and strategy. Kathryn, as an executive chef, creates culinary experiences that bring people together, whether at StoneWater’s restaurant, The Yard, or one of their many events, golf outings, or catering endeavors.

The success of their business is a testament to their dedication and hard work. Since launching their ownership in StoneWater via their LLC Les Tres Sorrell (the three sisters in Italian) and thus taking over management of all of the operations at StoneWater including golf, restaurant events, and catering at StoneWater, the Neidus sisters have seen the business thrive. But what they are perhaps most proud of is how they have given back to the community—hiring local students, hosting school events, and even creating yearly scholarship programs at Kent State University to support future students who want to study abroad, just as Lindsey and Kathryn once did.

A Legacy of Community and Connection
For the Neidus family, Gates Mills isn’t just where they live—it’s home. Their ties to the community go back decades, from raising their children here to supporting local schools and traditions. One of their favorite memories is participating in the Gates Mills Fourth of July Parade, a tradition they’ve upheld for over 20 years.

Beyond their business, the family finds joy in simple pleasures—sharing delicious meals (a must when you have an executive chef in the family!), gathering with their grandchildren at The Yard at StoneWater, or escaping together to a beach for their annual New Year's trip.

As longtime residents and passionate business owners, the Neidus family has helped foster a strong sense of community, creating spaces and opportunities that bring people together. With deep roots in Gates Mills, their story is one of love, commitment, and a shared passion for service, food, and family—values that will keep them connected to this special place for years to come.
