Community Coming Together

October is, without a doubt, the hardest month in schools. For teachers. For students. For families. The excitement of a new year has worn off, work starts to pile up, sunshine shortens, and people start to get tired with the cold weather kicking off. To combat the October slump, our foxes, including our fantastic faculty and families, have come together as a caring community to
support everyone, every day. Care can be seen and felt in classes, and there is just so much to share that it spills out into the hallways and into the rest of our community. It can also clearly be seen in the money raised at our most successful Walk-a-thon ever! Students walked for a good cause, and fun was had by all.
Students have also had a chance to carry on fun traditions, with the 4 th graders taking their annual gorge hike with the help of our awesome parents and teachers, and 5 th graders collaborating with members of the Gates Mills Garden Club to make pesto from the basil and garlic in the school garden.
Fox Fall Fest Fun
This year’s Fox Fall Fest was the biggest yet! With hundreds in attendance, pumpkins were decorated, faces were painted, hayrides had, and creative crafts were created. This year also boasted a tasty chili champion cookoff. In addition to supporting teacher grants and incredible experiential learning opportunities with field trips, the PTC gives generously of their time to run events like the Foxes Fall Fest. A huge thanks to all the volunteers and the generosity of Wenger Orthodontics, for sponsoring the whole event, along with donations from Eddy’s Fruit Farm, Abates Florists, Greenhouses and Landscaping, and Master Pizza.
