Lucy and Abby's Adventures
Our home is completely open-concept and has a fully-finished basement so there's plenty of room for the girls to run around and play. We also have floor-to-ceiling windows which allow the girls to fulfill their neighborhood watch duties.
How did your pet get his/her name?
Their names just fit their appearance and personalities. Lucy, whose legal name is "Lucille", had tiny ears when she was a puppy and looked just like a seal. Added bonus that Jessica's grandfather's first dog was named Lucy, which sealed the deal. Abby has always been wildly energetic and outgoing which seemed like a perfect match for her name. They were almost named Taco and Queso.
Does your pet have any favorite toys, places to sleep, visit, etc?
Yes! Both of the girls are big fans of Gustavo's patio for their queso and oranges and Atrium for their dog beers (aka water). Abby is obsessed with playing ball. She will actually throw the ball back to you after she catches it. Lucy loves playing tug-of-war and taking a long nap in the sun.
Tell us something quirky or funny that your pet does:
Lucy often takes naps laying on her side with her front leg dangling in the air. We call it her version of planking to work on her abs. Abby will often follow us around the house with a ball and throw it at us. If we ignore her (accidentally of course), she will jump in the air and pounce on it in order to grab it again. It's hilarious and adorable.
How has having your pet made your life better?
100%. Their personalities and interests are so different and fun. We love them so much!
Is there anything else you want to tell the neighbors about your pet?
The girls have an Instagram (shibas.in.the.usa). Feel free to give them a follow if you'd like to keep up with their adventures and see Lucy's famous planking or to say hi if you see them out in the neighborhood!
