When & where did you adopt your pet?
We have had her for about two years now!
What made you decide to make your home your pets forever home?
Previously, my mother-in-law adopted her from a dog shelter and had her for around six years, but recently had to move into assisted living so she could no longer care Sissy. We wanted her to still be able to see her Pet so we often bring her to visit!
How did your pet get his/her name?
MIL gave it and she is so tiny and sweet. It suits her well.
Does your pet have any favorite toys, places to sleep, visit, etc?
This dog loves to sleep and burrow into any blanket! Often I will find her in my bed under the covers.
Tell us something quirky or funny that your pet does:
1. Would you believe she lets me flip her on her back and hold her in my arms like a baby? Too funny!
2. When she is happy to see someone she’ll snuggle with them by leaning her little head against their chest. It’s the dog equivalent of a hug.
How has having your pet made your life better?
I always had big dogs. I never saw myself as a little dog mom but boy do I love to snuggle since it relaxes me. I’ll have to scoop her up where she is perfectly content in my arms. My boys are getting bigger so when I get to hold sissy like a baby, it’s Chihuahua therapy.
Is there anything else you want to tell the neighbors about your pet?
I always thought Chihuahuas were snippy and mean and I’m sure some are but she is gentle and has never snapped at anyone (even with my rough-and-tumble boys).
